Given that I wrote a long torturous post about how to use Tor without the bundle since Tor officially dropped PowerPC, I naturally wanted to check this out. If ipfw blocks an incoming packet, the application firewall does not process it.A little birdie left a comment saying there was an unofficial Tor Browser Bundle for Tiger and Leopard at /projects/osxpowerpcpackages. Earlier ipfw technology is still accessible from the command line (in Terminal) and the application firewall does not overrule any rules set using ipfw. The firewall may be set to block incoming ICMP 'pings' by enabling Stealth Mode in Advanced Settings. Firewall settings do not affect AppleTalk connections. ![]() The application firewall is designed to work with Internet protocols most commonly used by applications – TCP and UDP. ![]()
